Top 10 things to do in Germany,Sightseeing Tourist Attractions Places to Visit in Germany

Germany is a Western European country with a landscape of forests, rivers, mountain ranges and North Sea beaches.Germany encompasses a wide variety of landscapes: the tall, sheer mountains of the south; the sandy, rolling plains of the north; the forested hills of the urbanized west; and the plains of the agricultural east. At the spiritual heart of the country is the magnificent east-central city of Berlin, which rose phoenixlike from the ashes of World War II and now, after decades of partition, is the capital of a reunified Germany, and the Rhine River, which flows northward from Switzerland and is celebrated in visual art, literature, folklore, and song.

Victuals Market (Viktualienmarkt) Tours

Victuals Market (Viktualienmarkt) Munich’s historic Victuals Market is the city’s main destination for gourmet Bavarian goods. Its stalls—many family-run for generations—overflow with exotic fruits, fresh vegetables, truffles, flowers, spices, sausages and hams, artisanal cheeses, honey, and much more. Snack as you go or gather items for a picnic at the nearby park.

Viktualienmarkt in the Altstadt neighborhood of Munich. Public transport in the city is plentiful. Take any of the S-Bahn lines or the No. 3 or 6 U-Bahn line to the Marienplatz stop. When to Get There Victuals Market is open during the day, Monday to Friday, with shorter hours on Saturday. It is closed Sunday. Throughout the year, the market comes alive during city-wide festivals such as Oktoberfest, Spring Festival (April), Summer Festival (July), as well as its own Dance of the Market Women (Weiberfastnacht) on Shrove Tuesday.
At Christmas, the market is a riot of cheer, with carolers and booths selling holiday handicrafts and sweets. Beer Garden at Victuals Market In the heart of the market is one of the city’s most popular beer gardens. Shaded by chestnut trees, and open year-round, the hall seats about 600 people and pours homegrown beers. Order a pint, or do as the locals do, and ask for a liter, called a “mass.”
Classic Bavarian staples such as homemade sausages and roasted pork shoulder (schweinshaxe) are served with sauerkraut, warm potato salad, and meat and cheese plates. Address: Viktualienmarkt 3, Munich 80331, Germany

Neuschwanstein Castle Tours

Neuschwanstein tours can be taken from Munich, Fussen, Garmisch-Partenkirchen, or Frankfurt, and are often combined with visits to other attractions along Bavaria’s Romantic Road. Many visitors choose to admire the castle from the outside only and find that the most stunning views are from the Marienbrucke Bridge. The interior, including the opulent Minstrel’s Hall and the grand Byzantine Throne Room, can only be visited on a guided castle tour.

Linderhof Castle Tours

Linderhof Castle is open to visitors year-round, although the palace gardens and park buildings are closed during winter. Summer is the most popular time to visit, when it’s best to visit early in the morning or late in the afternoon to miss the biggest crowds.
In order to protect the castle’s many precious artworks, photography and filming are not allowed inside. Free Wi-Fi is available on-site. Large items, backpacks, and strollers are not allowed inside the palace; storage lockers are available at the entrance. Most parts of the palace are wheelchair accessible, and assistance is available on request.
Linderhof Castle takes its inspiration from the French King Louis XIV (also known as the “Sun King”) and the Palace of Versailles. There are numerous references to Versailles within Linderhof, including the grand Ambassador’s Staircase, the Hall of Mirrors, and multiple elaborate sun frescos. The gardens surrounding Linderhof Castle are considered some of the most beautiful in Germany, combining the formal elements of baroque style and Italian Renaissance gardens with landscaped sections in the English style. Architectural highlights of the palace park include the Venus Grotto, Hunding’s Hut, Gurnemanz Hermitage, and the Moroccan House. Address: Linderhof 12, Ettal 82488, Germany Hours: Varies Admission: Adults: €8.50
if you opt to walk up to the castle—the road is uphill and uneven in places. The castle is wheelchair-accessible with buses and carriages that can bring visitors up the hill to the entrance; inside, you’ll also find elevators. Plan to spend about two hours at the castle, excluding wait times.

Memorial and Museum Sachsenhausen Tours

The Sachsenhausen memorial is open year-round. Much of the site is outdoors, so dress for the weather if you plan to visit during winter. The library and archive are open Tuesday through Friday, while the open-air exhibits and memorial are open daily.
Allow about two hours to fully explore the site, and wear comfortable shoes for walking between exhibits. The memorial site is a somber place that invites reflection; remember to be respectful. Most of Sachsenhausen is wheelchair accessible. How to Get There Sachsenhausen is located in Oranienburg, roughly one hour by train and 40 minutes by road from central Berlin. To get there via public transit, take the metro (S-Bahn) to Oranienburg from downtown Berlin, then walk 20 minutes or take bus 804 to the memorial site.
The camp was built by prisoners in the summer of 1936 and was used to train SS officers who went on to command other Nazi concentration camps. A total of 105,000 people died at Sachsenhausen-Oranienburg during World War II, and in January 1945, just months before the site was liberated by the Allies in April, more than 65,000 men and women prisoners were here. Address: Straße der Nationen 22, Berlin 16515, Germany Hours: Daily 8:30am-6pm (until 4:30pm Oct 15-March 14)

Berlin TV Tower (Berliner Fernsehturm) Soaring 1,207 feet (368 meters) over Alexanderplatz, Berlin’s TV Tower (Berliner Fernsehturm) is Germany’s tallest structure. Built to mark the 20th anniversary of the German Democratic Republic in 1969, the tower was intended to be a symbol of East Germany’s achievements as a socialist society. Today it’s one of the capital’s most visited landmarks, affording 360-degree views over the entire city.
Ticket holders should arrive 15 minutes before the allotted time in order to pass through security. Free Wi-Fi is available on-site. Restaurant visitors should leave their coats at the free coat-check at the entrance. Large items, backpacks, and strollers are prohibited inside the tower. Due to safety concerns, wheelchair users and those with limited mobility are not permitted to enter the tower.
The Berlin TV Tower is located on Alexanderplatz in the Mitte neighborhood, about a 10-minute walk from nearby attractions such as Berlin Cathedral and Museum Island. The tower can also be reached by S-bahn (Alexanderplatz station), U-bahn (Klosterstraße station), and tram (Alexanderplatz). Paid car parking is located at Alexanderplatz and Otto-Braun Street. When to Get There The Berlin TV Tower is open daily, but with more than 1.2 million annual visitors, it can get crowded, especially during summer and holidays.
Opt for an early morning visit for the best chance to beat the throngs. Alternatively, head up to the observation deck after dark for an unforgettable view of Berlin’s skyline. Other atmospheric times to visit include during the Berlin Festival of Lights in October and the Alexanderplatz Christmas Market.
The View from the Tower The viewing platform of the Berlin TV Tower offers panoramic views over the city below. Display panels help you pinpoint such top attractions as the Reichstag (parliament) building, the Brandenburg Gate, and the Spree River.
Farther afield you might spot the Olympic Stadium, Tempelhof airport, and the Tiergarten, or remains of the Berlin Wall and the many monuments of the UNESCO-listed Museum Island. Marienplatz Tours

The pedestrian-only Marienplatz is at the center of Munich—both literally and figuratively—and is bordered by a variety of historic structures and shopping markets. In the middle of the square is St. Mary’s Column (Mariensaule), topped by a statue of the Virgin Mary, and a trip up to the top of the New City Hall (Neues Rathaus) tower offers panoramic views of Munich; on clear days, you can see all the way to the Bavarian Alps.
Historic city tours often begin at Marienplatz, and most bike tours, walking tours, and city sightseeing tours pass through the square as well.
Marienplatz is located in the heart of Munich’s Old Town. All of Munich’s major landmarks are easily accessible from the centrally located Marienplatz subway station. When to Get There Marienplatz is a public square, with varied opening times for the different businesses located there.
During the holiday season, one of Munich’s most celebrated Christmas markets is held on the plaza. In summer, the square hosts viktualienmarkt (farmers markets) and musical buskers.
Neues Rathaus and the Glockenspiel At the top of the Neues Rathaus’ tower is the famous Glockenspiel clock. Every day it chimes at 11am and noon, as well as 5pm in summer.

The Glockenspiel portrays two stories from the 16th century, with the top half of the clock acting out the marriage of the local duke (Wilhelm V) to Renata of Lorraine and the bottom half telling the story of the Schafflertanz, or Coopers’ Dance. Legend says that Munich’s coopers danced through the streets during the plague of 1517 to bring vitality to the city. Address: Altstadt-Lehel, Munich 80331, Germany
